Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park already announced Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers for its final night of 2017. The band will perform a rare UK gig in the world's greatest outdoor venue, armed with a career of classic hits and a reputation as one of the greatest musicians of the past 40 years.  The gig will celebrate the band’s 40th anniversary and very special guests were announced in Stevie Nicks, Fleetwood Mac’s inspirational singer and American folk rockers The Lumineers.

But the incredible bill does not stop there. First to join the final day of festivities is British singer-songwriter duo Ward Thomas. Sisters Catherine and Lizzy Ward Thomas have been making a name as the vanguard of the British country movement, despite being from Hampshire rather than Nashville.

Their second album ‘Cartwheels’ went to Number 1 in the UK Album Chart after their debut ‘From Where We Stand’ had broken through into the Top 10 of the Country Chart.  Influenced by the sounds of Dixie Chicks and Miranda Lambert during their childhood, growing up on a farm, they recently opened the UK leg of the Country 2 Country festival in London. The duo will support their hero Lambert on tour later this summer and have just shared a bill with the Dixie Chicks in Australia.

.More Americana lands in Hyde Park with The Head and the Heart, modern American folk from Seattle from a band originally signed to the city’s legendary label Sub Pop. Their latest album ‘Signs Of Light’ was released at the end of last year and the band have been influenced by both Tom Petty and Fleetwood Mac, making them the perfect guests for this final day of Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park.

Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown is all raw, roots and riffs, steeped in the blues and southern rock.  Nashville based, they have toured with Jeff Beck and ZZ Top and opened for Aerosmith, building a cult following across the US.

Next up is The Shelters, hailing from sunny Los Angeles with close links to Tom Petty who co-produced their self-titled debut album while handing them the keys to his home studio.  A four piece, male, vintage Southern California rock band, they are also touring with Petty’s band Mudcrutch.

US singer songwriter Diane Birch recently released new EP ‘Nous’, recorded in Berlin. Her third release, she has been compared with Sade and Stevie Nicks, her fellow Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park star and over the years has won admiration from fans as diverse as Prince, Mark Ronson, Daryl Hall, Dave Stewart, Questlove, Elvis Costello and Stevie Wonder. Birch’s unique voice sings over her piano led ballads, which range from the classic female 70 singer songwriters influence of her earlier work, to the hymnal soaked ‘Nous’, containing touches of soul, R&B and even Debussy.

Jordan MacKampa was born in Kinshasha in the Democratic Republic of Congo, grew up in London but now hails from Coventry. His blues, jazz and folk tinged songs and gospel voice on EP ‘Physics’ received praise from NME, The 405 and Clash and has seen him be compared to Michael Kiwanuka, while he strikes an impressively timeless note for an artist still in his early 20s.

Australian Juanita Stein is the lead singer of London based indie rockers Howling Bells and recognized as one of he great front women in modern music. She has now struck out on her own, releasing her debut solo EP ‘America’, described as “songs from a dark hearted country,” with an album to follow in May.  She has been touring with Michael Kiwanuka, Richard Hawley and Israel Nash.

Also on the line up are two rising stars of the London folk and country scene, following in footsteps of Ward Thomas. Jade Bird signed to Glassnote Records just this month and is a certain ‘one to watch’ for 2017. Catherine McGrath hails from Northern Ireland, a British country pop artist causing a stir in the UK. She played the Country 2 Country Festival at London’s O2 and Brighton’s crucial new music showcase The Great Escape recently. McGrath released ‘EP ONE’ at the end of 2016, which now has over a million streams on Spotify.
