Audible presents the best in comedy at BST Hyde Park's Open House
Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park is delighted to announce the comedy line-up for the Audible Presents Stage; four nights of cracking comedy during our Open House midweek activities (4-7 July).
This stellar comedy line-up is brought to BST Hyde Park by Audible, the leading audio entertainment provider; home to comedy audiobooks and performances from top comedic talent.
Taking to the stage are four heavyweight comedy headliners: Mark Watson, Hal Cruttenden, Sara Pascoe and Andrew Maxwell, supported by some of the finest up-and-coming comedians to hit the circuit.
But time is of the essence! There only 100 tickets per night. Tickets are just £10 each, on sale NOW.
Kicking off the comedy showcase on the Audible Presents Stage on Monday 4 July is Edinburgh Festival Award Winner and Time Out Critic’s Choice, Mark Watson. Not only a regular on television shows such as Mock The Week and Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Mark has been the face of shows such as BBC Four’s We Need Answers and BBC Radio 4’s Mark Watson Makes The World Substantially Better. Warming up the crowds for Mark will be Felicity Ward, Adam Bloom and Jamali Maddix– with special host, Alfie Brown!
Lined up for the second night of comedy; headliner Hal Cruttenden is not only one of the UK’s top comedians, but also a highly accomplished writer and actor. Over the last year he’s performed on ‘Live at the Apollo’, ‘Have I Got News For You’ and frequently being seen on much-loved ‘Great British Bake Off – Extra Slice’.
Joining Hal on Tuesday 5th July are four sterling comics in their own right; Junior Simpson, Glenn Wool, John Fothergill and Jimmy McGhie.
Nominated for best show at the 2014 Fosters Edinburgh Comedy Awards and winner of the 2014 Chortle Breakthrough Award, Sara Pascoe is often lauded as one of the finest comedians of her generation.
“Always clever and sometimes exquisite” (Independent), Sara is bound to keep the crowds of Hyde Park chortling on Wednesday night - made even funnier by supports Kai Humphries, Jo Jo Smith and Damian Clark. What’s more, back for a second year at Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park is your host for the evening… Jarred Christmas!
Rounding off the Audible Presents Stage is double Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Andrew Maxwell. He’s known as a master of thought-provoking, charming and hilarious comedy, where anecdotes and observations are interwoven with razor sharp political and social commentary. Andrew’s many TV credits include Sky’s John Bishop’s Only Joking, Comedy Central’s Russell Howard’s Stand Up Central and the BBC’s Live at the Apollo.
Plus Edinburgh Fringe favourite Mark Nelson will be revving up the crowd for comedy must-see Maxwell – and lucky for us, the whole evening will be hosted by ‘laugh out loud funny’ Keith Farnen (Time Out).
With only 100 tickets available per night, act quickly!
The Audible Presents Stage adds to the host of weekday activities in between two weekends of legendary musical line-ups. Make the most of the long days and warm summer evenings across four fun-packed dates in London’s iconic Royal Park.
Also on offer during Open House will be free open-air movie nights and Wimbledon screenings, The Royal Parks Horticulture Show, Street Food stalls, daytime DJs, live music and entertainment, free badminton sessions, ping pong and much more.
